Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) is Tanzania's sole Standards body, formerly established by the Standards Act No, 30f 1975, which was repealed arid replaced by the Standards hit No.2 of 2009. It is a Parastatal Organization under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The Bureau is looking for suitably qualified, competent, dynamic and committed Tanzanians to fill the above mentioned vacancies:
Qualifications and experience
Holders of Certificate o f Secondary Education (CSE), a library Assistant Certificate with three (3) years work experience.
Duties and responsibilities
Performs shelving of books and periodicals
Performs card filling
Assists with inter library loans
Conducts sale of standards
Carries out issue and return of documents
Assists readers in bibliographical searching
Assists in collection of library statistics
Assists in manual operations in various sections of the library
Lends out and receives books and periodicals
Assists in coping catalogues with cataloguing in publication (CIP) data
Carries out routine professional duties
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of  Section
Remuneration

Senior expert in the field of public governance, EDF and procurement of supplies
Objectives
·         The Specific objective of this assignment is to draft a comprehensive PE1 covering an 18 month period and a project life cycle operational and financial plan for the period covered by MASE, as well as a visibility plan. In line with EDF Procurement procedures, and the MASE TAPs and Annexes.
Experts profile
·         At least a Master’s Degree (development studies, peace and security or related field);
·         Ten years’ experience and competence in the following areas:
o    Knowledge of public sector governance and public finance principles (accountability, transparency and competition);
o    Proven experience and knowledge of EDF procedures, including drafting or implementing Programme Estimates;
o    Experience working with an EU Delegation on procurement of supplies;
o    Previous work experience with the EAC would be an asset;
o    Experience in human security, maritime security, peace and justice fields would be an  asset;
o    Experience with pan-African and/or sub-regional cooperation in the Eastern & Southern Africa, knowledge and understanding of regional integration processes would be an asset;
o    Excellent command of English (working language);
o    Swahili would be an asset.

• Make ticket reservations, confirmations, reconfirmations and seat selection for clients on PW flights in compliance with the carrier policies, procedures and customer expectations.

• To give fare quotes to all PW clients including group quotations and bookings.

• To ensure daily sales reports and sales dispatches are submitted in accordance to company procedures

• Give clients flight details and information

• Handle telephone & email enquiries as regards travel information.

• To protect and enhance revenue collection to meet carriers expectations

• To effectively communicate relevant aspects of customer service internally and externally to meet customer expectations

• Carries out all duties which may reasonably be requested and which are not includes in the job description

• To be the principal administrator for precision Air in the assigned territory safeguard PW's interests

• Provide input and participate In the identification and progress of new business opportunities for revenue growth (through special prorate/interline agreements/partnerships etc)

• Participate in PW /s passenger revenue budget process.

• Assess  and  propose  appropriate  incentive  scheme  to  TA,  Corporate  travel,  and

government so as to enhance productivity, efficiency and maximization of revenue.

Originate, plan for, implement, analyse and refine short and long term maintenance activities to meet company business, aviation authority and third party requirements in the assigned area

• Prepare and submit to production section work packages for aircraft maintenance checks in

• Monitor, control, evaluate and give feedback on work progress for aircraft and component maintenance for timely and cost effective accomplishment

• Plan for timely availability of required tools and materials for scheduled aircraft maintenance

• Plan for and implement accomplishment of local modifications, service bulletins, airworthiness directives as called out by engineering development for optimised cost whilst maintaining safety standards

• Prepare and maintain current aircraft maintenance records and modification status

ROLE PURPOSE OF THE STATEMENT

Compile and maintain sound, reliable, efficient and up to date aircraft / component records for reliability and aircraft safety to enhance the company aircraft operations and maintenance scheduling demands to achieve maximum aircraft utilization and output

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSBILITIES

       Receive and collate all maintenance records for discrepancies and

       Report to senior records officer.

       Update information system using collected data for tracking aircraft and component history

     Monitor hard lifted components and report to the senior records officer on those with insufficient remaining life.

       Produce and distribute monthly aircraft and engine status reports to facilitate maintenance planning

       Provide the aircraft and component hours and cycles to senior records officer for vetting and transmission to contracted parties such as owners, lessors and maintenance providers

     File all completed aircraft maintenance documents and regularly transfer the same to technical archives for safe custody in accordance with the TCAA requirements.

       Compile airworthiness directives (AD’s) and service bulletins (SB’s) accomplishments at the direction of the planning engineer

       Any other duty as assigned by supervisor
