a potential candidate to fill the position of an Assistant Accountant-Bocar based
in the Dar es salaam office. Responsibilities and Tasks: Ensure that all
relevant data are posted in the accounting system and back up to the server is
done Process staff requests for fund and accountability (Imprest Accounting)
Review of Sub recipient/Sub grantees accountabilities Prepare periodic reports
ie Bank reconciliation, Quarterly reports and Liquidation Participate in the
budget/accrual preparation Perform periodic budget monitoring Provide
backstopping support to Accountant Ensure adherence and compliance of policies,
rules and regulations Ensure payments to vendors and disbursement to sub
recipient/ sub grantees is done on time Participate in Internal and External
Audit Any other duty that may be assigned to you by the Accountant
Required skills & Qualifications:
Holder of Bachelor of Commerce/Advanced Diploma in Accounting from a recognised institution
Basic Accounting qualification eg Module E/Module F
An understanding of NAVISON or other related accounting package
Minimum of 3 years working experience
Other relevant skills/experience
Communication (oral and written)
Good interpersonal skills
Well-developed computer user skills
Attention to details.

candidates to be employed on part time bases as Assistant Accountant by Medical
Laboratory Scientists Association of Tanzania (MeLSAT) PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The
candidate will be responsible to oversee the day-to-day activities of the
finance function and to ensure it is being run correctly and efficiently, and
be expected to add value by supporting the expected growth of the Association.
The role will involve extensive liaison with the MeLSAT President, other
members of the Management team, and relevant external contacts. STATION OF
WORK: To be stationed at the MeLSAT Headquarters in Dar-Es Salaam. REPORTS TO:
MeLSAT National Executive Council and MeLSAT President
Qualification:
A Tanzanian with a Diploma in
accountancy preferably Intermediate level (Module D) from NBAA
Must have a working experience of not less than three (3) years in a known organization.
Fluency in English and Kiswahili in both written and spoken.
SKILLS:
Should be highly organized and be able to work with minimum supervision.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and maintain effective working relationships.
Must have Computer knowledge - Extensive technical knowledge on various software hardware and networks
(Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.)
Ability to record financial information and create consolidated financial statements
Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively with highly skillful at suggesting feasible time and prompt solutions.
Have a working knowledge of production accounting software, general computer literacy and the ability to work in a team.

•The key responsibilities covered by this role are business development, portfolio management, and cross-sell management (SME-retail)
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Business Development & Portfolio Management
•Relationship building/engagement with the local Chinese clients to improve the active ratio, product per customer and revenue of existing Chinese portfolio, and also to acquire more new to bank influential Chinese customers.
•Analyze customer business model and tailor the best transaction banking and trade solution for customer by leveraging on existing product capability and the global network of SCB.
•Evaluate existing and new customer applications for credit to advise whether they meet our target market and risk acceptance of SCB Policies and standards.
•Sourcing documents required for a credit application i.e. financials, security documents, KYC
•Evaluates and acquires a good understanding of the risks associated with individual transactions, products and customers e.g. excesses.
•Recommending credit application for approval. This involves reviewing and analyzing Credit Applications including company financials, company management and all risks affecting a company.
•Monitor liability trends and overall pricing of deposits, and maximize returns in a manner consistent with SME Banking strategy and in line with Group policy.
•Initiates periodic review of accounts in the portfolio
•Provides feedback to Bank management and colleagues regarding customer service quality, product issues, customer complaints etc.
•Fosters effective working partnerships with SME members and other support functions.
Risk Governance
•Ensure compliance with group policies pertaining to Operational Risk, Compliance Risk Monitoring and Corporate Governance
•Fully compliant with regulations and Group policies and guidelines, and be able to highlight, mitigate and protect the bank against credit, legal, documentation, reputational and other risks; to conduct business at all times in a compliance-conscious manner and alert to the potential risks of money laundering and other undesirable transactions/activity during and after client on-boarding process.
